This vase was thrown with a new-to-me high fire clay. Lincoln fire clay is normally an ingredient in other clay bodies but it turns out that it makes a lovely clay all on its own. This piece has a raw clay flower motif decorated with a contrasting slip made with one of my favorite dark clay bodies.
