Wheel thrown with a mix of clays, including a speckled stoneware. This vase is decorated by waxing a pattern on the surface before applying a gloss white glaze.

I enjoy the challenge of making this form, stretching the belly over a very narrow intersection above the pedestal. The other challenge is in getting the pedestal compressed enough not to crack since there is a very substantial amount of clay left before trimming it out.
