Hand-built vase constructed by jigsawing a piece of wood into the upper portion of the form. Once my drop slump frame is made, I stretched a slab in the opening. Once the first slab sets up, I stretch a second slab in the inverse of the frame. After I have the two halves, I attach them, then sculpt a pedestal to attach the pillow form to.

Made with a mix of clay, including speckled stoneware. This piece is decorated by water etching a relief design on each slide by repeatedly wiping the surface while holding a hand-cut stencil in place. Glazed in a glossy white.
