This piece is inspired by folk art and my love of pattern. Wheel-thrown porcelain mug. One-of-a-kind piece, the gingham was achieved by painting strips in a grid and then carving MANY tiny carved lines. The flowers were achieved by layering and blending paint, then water etched while holding a hand-cut stencil in place.
